![]() ![]() The picture and audio quality are topnotch and the English dub is not half bad either. While some of the comedy is a bit heavy-handed, the political maneuvering of major elements within the Universal Century mythos is a joy to behold.Īs with the prior Gundam: The Origin Blu-ray release, this Loum arc set is done very well. This is a big thing really, Gundam: The Origin brings to life some of the deepest lore in the Gundam franchise and does so with a great deal of care and insight. Especially, as many of the new actors are taking on iconic roles due to the previous actors having passed away. While the voice acting is a bit over the top in places, the general quality of the acting is very well done. It never felt out of place, whereas here it really does at times. ![]() ![]() ![]() It’s definitely in-line with Yoshikazu Yasuhiko’s approach though but with his earlier work, such as Giant Gorg, the humor was tempered and more measured. The acting is really over the top when the characters are being humorous, with it often backfiring and coming off as a bit cheesy. Garma Zabi is a good example, as is Dren and even Kai Shiden at times. Talking of the Zabi family, there is one thing this Loum arc does a bit strangely and that is with its humor. The callous cruelty of the Zabi family is also brought to the forefront and while Dozle and even Degwin begin to question their actions, both Gihren and Kycilia are just downright evil. ![]()
